Job Summary:

As the DevOps Lead at TZOA, you will play a critical role in keeping our systems up and firing on all cylinders.  We’re looking for someone who can take responsibility for supporting and evolving both our customer facing infrastructure (Azure iothub, servers, telemetry databases, Lambdas etc) as well as our internal devops infrastructure (dev/stage/prod environments, pipelines, automated tests etc).   We are a small team and an awesome DevOps Lead will have a massive and immediate impact.  This is a senior position with significant responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and evolve our Azure based systems, including web servers, Azure DevOps infrastructure and IoT ingest. 
  • Own and evolve our AWS infrastructure, including Lambdas, servers, APIs and databases.
  • Manage and maintain our core Saas infrastructure that underpins our business operations, including JIRA Cloud and our CRM
  • Work on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
  • Ensure that systems and operations are secure against cybersecurity threats
  • Work with software developers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended


Qualifications and Experience

  • 5+ years of DevOps experience:
    • Good knowledge of Azure backend services, including databases, APIs and server management
    • Good knowledge of AWS backend services, including databases, APIs and server management
    • Experience with IoT devices, streaming telemetry and constantly growing datasets
    • PostGres and Timescale database management, queries and APIs
    • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment of web apps, mobile apps and APIs
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively on cross-functional teams
  • Experience with software development processes including source control, branch management, bug tracking and documentation
