Production Assembly Technician


Job Summary:

As a Production Assembly Technician at TZOA, you will be responsible for completing daily production requirements to fulfill sales demand.  You will work with the engineering and product teams on new product launches from development into production as well as help with shipping, receiving, and maintenance of inventory.

What you’ll do:

  • Fabricate optical and electronic products according to product specifications, including soldering, assembling, testing, validation, and rework of surface mount (SMD/SMT) PCBs
  • Perform mechanical assembly of optical and electrical prototypes and products
  • Aid product development team with fabrication for prototypes when required
  • Hand soldering electronic assemblies
  • Electro-mechanical assembly
  • Operating specialized manufacturing equipment
  • Goods in testing using laboratory instrumentation
  • Entering product tracking data
  • Inspecting products to quality standards
  • Product packaging requirements
  • Shipping requirements and assistance
  • Material incoming inspection and inventory management support.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant experience in hands-on electronics fabrication, printed circuit board assembly in a manufacturing environment including rework stations & microscopes and test equipment including multimeters and oscilloscopes
  • Technician diploma (or equivalent) from a recognized technology institute or college
  • Working knowledge of relevant SMT PCB techniques (IPC-A-610)
  • Experience with ESD management 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An ability to take ownership in producing quality work
