TZOA is an exciting early stage Vancouver-based startup, helping people take control of the air quality in their homes with our innovative IoT air quality monitors and solutions. We not only detect air quality problems, but also help solve these problems by connecting to our customers residential HVAC systems to clean the air better and more efficiently. TZOA has received invention awards from Popular Science and Time Magazine, and has seven patents for environmental, air quality and optical particle counting technologies.

What you’ll do:


As the Operations Manager you will be responsible for advancing our ability to rapidly scale our manufacturing by being the bridge between our engineering team and our supply chain. Maintaining and improving our relationships with our vendors and ensuring that we understand every step our components take from first articles to final assembly. You have a strong interest in electronics manufacturing but are focused on operations and quality.  


 


  • Develop strategies to ensure that Operations meet the company’s growth trajectory.

  • Work with the Sales organization to set production levels and optimize our cash conversion cycle.

  • Own the procurement of parts and other production materiel both directly with vendors and via our partnerships.

  • Be responsible for ensuring on-time production, continuity of supply and quality control for TZOA’s contract and in-house manufacturing output.

  • Report, analyze and control all operation production costs and metrics.

  • Develop product Statement of Work documentation and run RFQ processes for contract manufacturer engagement. 

  • Run our vendor selection and onboarding process.

  • Fully own and provide direction for production plans, manufacturing process development, finished goods quality, production equipment, work instructions and training.

  • Ensure on-going compliance with OEM partners white-label production requirements.


What would make you a strong fit:


  • Proven ability to own production and quality responsibilities for a consumer grade electronics product line.

  • Track record of delivering results regarding electronics parts procurement and production cost control.

  • Exceptional problem solving ability with a high sense of urgency.

  • Strong verbal and oral communication and desire for high visibility, direct reporting to C-level.

  • Degree in engineering or business preferred.
